Abstract
The urban poor, which is the result of urbanization, lives in the slum. Most of the slum pockets grow in the prime areas of the city and become  nuisance for the surrounding areas.iin the last three decades, the rate of urbanization in Nagpur is high .This has resulted in the formation of many urban slum pockets in the city
In an era when skyscrapers are coming up at a fast pace in developed and developing cities, Nagpur stands testimony to the stark reality of housing the fourth largest slum population in the country.  Nearly 36% of its people live in 446 slum areas. There are almost 8.58 lakh people living in 1.41 lakh structures in these slums which have poor basic facilities, according to the figures of City Sanitation Plan (CSP) prepared recently by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation's health department (sanitation).
In Nagpur major development is Along the Nagpur Amravati road. The slum is located in the heart of the city. This slum pocket is creating obstructions in terms of connectivity and socio-environmental issues. Along this developing side of the city.
This paper is an attempt to understand the issues of Vastanrao naik slum pocket give recommendation for redevelopment of this pocket, so that in future it does not affect the development of city and easily be the part of city.
